Highbury House has hosted a variety of music artists since its opening in 2009 and we cater for a wide range of musical and artistic tastes that appeal to young and old! Here are our future performers, as well some of our past performers...


Future Performers:
 UP NEXT! - Jean Morrison (Singer, Guitarist) with Johan Stapelberg (Violinist)

Jean Morrison originally hails from Durban, South Africa but is currently based in Cape Town. This talented young artist writes & performs his own music, which he describes as "Neo Acoustic, Romanticised Ballroom Rock".
In addition to performing his own music, Jean also sings cover versions of bands such as Snow Patrol, Radiohead and Oasis, with a focus on songs that brings out his impressive vocal range. Have a listen to some of Jean's music at http://www.myspace.com/jeanmorrisonband
Jean is set to perform at Highbury House with local violinist Johan Stapelberg on Friday, 05 March 2010 from 19h30. Tickets sell for only R100.00 each and can be booked with Leanie on 084 815 7657 or Marelise on 954 0976. Seating at this venue is limited to around 80 seats, with a minimum gig requirement of 50 pre-booked seats. Bookings can only be confirmed AFTER payment has been received.
 
Buchanan & Co (Wind & Stringed Instruments)




Buchanan and his ensemble perform a unique blend of classical and contemporary music to the delight of audiences all over the country. Buchanan has appeared as a guest artist on Television shows such as Pasella and Kyknet and he has released a number of albums. For more information on Buchanan & Co. go to www.silverflute.co.za


Past Performers:

Danie Botha (Gospel Singer, Guitarist)

Danie Botha has been working as a professional musician and singer since 1988. Between 1988 and 1993 his main focus has been on secular, contemporary Afrikaans music. Since 1993 however, he has changed his focus and became a gospel artist. Although he also writes and composes songs in English, he still mainly sings in Afrikaans. Danie has released many albums over the past 3 decades, both gospel & secular and he continues to perform all over the country.

Piet Smit (Gospel Singer, Guitarist)
Piet Smit is an Afrikaans Gospel artist who has released several successful albums. Piet has been writing and performing his own music for more than a decade. He has also released albums in collaboration with Danie Botha, and they have toured together. Piet continues to draw crowds, as he did when he performed at Highbury House on ??. William Warren (Singer, Guitarist)

 

William Warren is a young artist, with a contemporary style of music. Williams writes and performs his own music as well as selected cover-versions. He is influenced by a blend of modern bands such as Coldplay and Keane, but also enjoys the sounds of some of the music from the 60's and 70's.
